Bryson Eiler Ms. Lehmann 15 March 2019 English 1-3 Response to As You Like It Here is my opinion on the play As You Like It. This play was originally written by William Shakespeare. A theater group performed it at Valley High School by the name of Shakespearience. I have an overall positive opinion about this play; I believe all aspects were used to provide the best effect. I’m now going to share my opinion about different aspects of the play. I believe that the music and the costumes in this play were correctly used to help illustrate the mood of the situation and characters. Multiple times during a romance scene or during the beginning, it helped establish a mood, whether it was designed to be silly or serious. Along with that, the costumes used in the play were helpful in describing the character’s personality. On multiple characters, the clothing was used to establish if they were wealthy or humorous or just to summarize that character’s overall personality. Overall, I think that this play utilized music and costumes in the best possible way. Along with the music and the costumes, the acting was also very professional. The actors took it very seriously. The actors did well to read their lines and play their parts without making mistakes. I especially enjoyed the sound effects they made during fighting scenes throughout the play. One part that was bery well done was when the school bell rang and the actors reacted like that was put into their part. In the end, the acting used in this play was very well done considering everything that happened in the play. The theme of this play was also well suited to the overall idea of the play itself. The clothing and the music were essential to setting the mood in multiple scenes throughout the play. Mainly the romantic scenes and fighting scenes used the music effectively, but clothing was used in all parts. IT helped to keep the mood very lighthearted but still serious where it need to be. I think the theme was kept throughout the play for a more modern approach on what was more of an early modern style play. All in all, I think that this play was very neatly performed and was practiced and was practiced to the fullest extent. The clothing and music used in this play were utilized to help establish the mood of the scenes. The acting was also very well done. I can tell that they practiced a lot on memorizing their lines and their parts. There was a constant theme kept throughout the play that helped to keep the audience engaged in the situation in the play. This play was very well done and all aspects of it were genuine and utilized to their fullest extent.
