Summary Reflection 1. List one thing you’ve learned from writing this paper that you can apply to other writing assignments. What will that look like?
I learned how to write the first sentence of a summary and introduce my subject. This will help me to better introduce the topic of my next summary.
2. Identify a specific revision you were asked to make and explain why (this can be at any stage of the writing process), How did you revise? What did you learn?
One of the revisions I had to make was to shorten down a run on sentence; I revised this by finding out the clauses of my sentence and figured out how I could turn them into two separate sentences. I learned that run on sentences can easily be separated into two smaller sentences using independent clauses.
3. What are the conventions of a summary and how did you meet those in this assignment?
The conventions of the essay are the Author, Title, Genre, Big Idea, the main points in chronological order, and to NEVER put opinions in a summary.
4. Given more time to work on this assignment how would you improve it?
I would increase the length of my essay and make it sound more professional.
5. What is one thing you’re proud of this paper?
I was able to correctly insert quotes in this paper.
